The start of the 2018 Cedar Rapids Farmers Market kicked off last Saturday (May 26) from 7:30 a.m. – 12 p.m. The Farmers Market has over 200 vendors that sell and promote their product and services to the surrounding community during it’s 13th season.

The downtown Cedar Rapids area is experiencing construction around 2nd avenue, but there shouldn’t be any problems for the Farmers Market. As well with the road construction, there is a new entertainment stage in the Green Square Park that will be a new city attraction.

On August 25th, Market After Dark will have American Idol winner and Iowa native Maddie Poppe will perform at the Market. This has the city abuzz with excitement, people all around wanting to attend to welcome the local town hero.

Two recurring customers of the market had this to say about their time viewing the venues, “Vendors are very friendly and are very kind to me when I have questions about products”, said local Prairie High School Junior Logan Andeway. “I believe it’s a great way to support my community”. Prairie educator Carrie Swart had this to add “There’s always a great variety of products there, and the Market at night is always enjoyable”.

The first date, of the Farmers Market already passed (5-26-18) but the rest of the dates are still valid to attend.
