Hello October, aka hello more and more work in classes. Don’t let your grades fall as fast as the leaves. October is when it’s time to buckle down. School has started, you know your classes and schedules. Homecoming week is over, and it’s time to hit the books.
Stay strong this fall and on top of your grades. The next three months leading up to finals has procrastination written all over it. We all are guilty of having this issue with our chemistry class, or that creative writing paper.

Instead of just choosing a time and place to just sit down and get it done, we will scroll through Twitter, sleep, and watch movies in our bed. I’m here to help get you started on the right track.
The first thing to stay organized this fall. You have two options. One is going through your phone calendar and set reminders. Or two GET a planner and physically write in it every day and actually train yourself to use it. At the beginning of every week, plan and write everything in your calendar or planner.
No matter how busy your schedule is, you have got to have time management. Make sure you leave time for friends and family, sports, sleep, and just simple things that you truly want to do.
Using class time wisely is key. Get your work done in class, or a free period if you have one. If you don’t just know that you will have to do it that night when you would rather be sleeping.
Always have some sort of coffee or snack on hand to sip or snack on while your studying. Not only this but have a spot in mind, DO NOT say your bed. You will end up falling asleep and get nothing done. Go downtown to Brewhemia, or Scooters. Or maybe just down to your kitchen table. Whatever you do, don’t fall into the trap of thinking you can study in your bed.
No matter how much you don’t want to study, just do it. That extra 40 mins of sleep are nothing when you finally get an A on that chem test. Nobody wants to struggle in December when finals come around. So stop being lazy now in October and get your work done. Can’t say I didn’t warn you, leave it to the leaves to fall this October.
