Female rapper, Cardi B climbed her way to the top of the charts, wiping out Taylor Swift’s hit “Look What You Made Me Do,” on her way. Her single “Bodak Yellow,” is an empowering anthem for many women, especially to Black and Latina females.

 

According to Billboard, Cardi B is the second female rapper to make #1 on the charts throughout their 59-year history, without anyone else featured in the song. The last person to accomplish this feat was Lauryn Hill, with her song “Doo-Wop (That Thing.)” It was nearly 19 years ago in 1998.
