Last week, Confluence Landscape Architecture partnered with Iowa BIG for a temporary alley revival. The alley featured a temporary paint and chalk mural, games like Jenga and checkers, ribbons along the parking ramp and seating made out of recycled palettes. This was temporary to show the city what allies can do to help bring the community together and bring a space where anyone can hang out. The alley was featured on KCRG and the city manager came to the reveal. Hopefully this is a step in the right direction so later in the school year students at Iowa BIG can help implement a permanent alley revival.
