Eight Prairie seniors signed national letters of intent to continue their athletic and academic careers on Wednesday. Seven of them will play football, and one will play soccer at colleges across the midwest.
Linebackers Brody Bohr and Zach Ganske will stay in Cedar Rapids, signing with Coe College. Bohr had 32 tackles on the season and Ganske had 32.5. Ganske also excelled as a running back, finishing with over 1,000 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Martavian Borseth signed with Wayne State University. He played defensive back, had 39 tackles and 3 interceptions on the season.
Chance Halfhill will be attending Loras College in Dubuque. As a defensive lineman, he had 24.5 tackles, and one interception returned for a touchdown.
Evan Lins signed with St. Ambrose University as an offensive lineman, and is 6’5”, weighing around 335 lbs.
Joe Meyer signed with Simpson College as a running back. Meyer broke the school record for rushing yards in a single season with 1,518, and tied the touchdown record with 29. He was selected as 1st team all state.
Jawonatae Rodgers signed with Iowa Central Community College. He finished with 15.5 tackles and 1.5 sacks.
The only signee from Prairie who wasn’t a football player was Cayla Renwick, who signed with Concordia-St. Paul to play soccer. Last season, she had 15 goals and 3 assists for the Prairie girls.
