Cedar Rapids Prairie Grad Jalen Rima is doing big things at UNI, just like we all expected. Last Saturday he returned his first punt of the year, and took it 94 yards for the touchdown. This is the longest punt return in school history, passing Joe Fuller’s 1984 record of 93 yards.
Rima’s TD put the Panthers up 13-0 in the first quarter, and they went on to win that game against Indiana State 39-6. They improved to 4-5 on the season, and 3-2 in the Valley. Rima had racked up 7 catches for 120 yards and a receiving touchdown, along with 6 kick returns for 168 yards before that game.
We will continue to keep an eye on Rima’s success, along with the rest of the UNI football team.
