The University of North Carolina faced up against the University of Villanova in Houston, Texas for the National Championship game. With star players on each team, it was predicted to be a great game and it lived up to it.
The game was back and forth for the majority, when one team would pull ahead the other team would just make a run to close the gap. North Carolina took a 7 point lead before Villanova countered and took a 10 point lead.
The game was 72-71 going into the final seconds with Villanova leading. 2 clutch free throws gave Villanova a 3 point lead, and then Marcus Paige happened. Paige drained a circus 3 to tie the game at 74. With 4 seconds left Jay Wright drew up a play for the centuries. Ryan Arcidiacono drove down the court before dishing it to Kris Jenkins who hit a 3 at the buzzer to win the National Championship.
This was one of the greatest games in National title history and will be remembered forever. Anything can happen at any moment in college basketball, making it the greatest sport to watch.
