The month of February is amazing for sports. February is the month of the Super Bowl which many people are tuned in to, along with some good NBA action, and NHL games. But February also marks one of the most important months for college basketball. February Madness.

Big 12

The race for the Big 12 conference is tight as 3 teams are tied for first place and only a game and a half separates first place and 6th place. Kansas looks to take their 12th straight Big 12 regular season championship, but teams like Oklahoma, West Virginia, Texas, and Iowa State want to hold the crown at the end of the regular season taking the momentum to Kansas City.

Big 10

The Big 10 conference is lead but the surprising Iowa Hawkeyes. The Hawkeyes hold a half game lead over Maryland and a 1 game lead over Indiana. The conference race shows to be a 3 team race although teams like Michigan state and purdue will push to try and put their name in the conversation.

ACC

The ACC holds powerhouse teams like North Carolina and Duke, as North Carolina holds first place in the ACC the Duke Blue Devils are surprising in 6th place but are only 2 games behind UNC for the 1st place spot. The race for the ACC is tight and really anyone can make a run to win it.

Big East

The Big East is lead by the number 1 team in the nation, Villanova stands at the top of the conference with an 11-1 record but only a 2 game lead over Xavier who is ranked 5th in the nation. The Big East race is mostly between Villanova and Xavier but Providence hopes to take a shot at the title at the end of the season.

SEC

The SEC is mostly known as a football conference but has 2 top 25 teams in the conference. The SEC is lead by LSU who has a half game lead over Kentucky. The SEC is a 5 team race to the top with only 1 game separating them. It should prove to be an interesting race to the finish of the season.
Some say that March is the best month for basketball but the teams who want to contend crank it up in February making every game a must win.
