In the shadows of a disappointing season the Prairie girls basketball team has made it their goal to improve from last year and they have done just that. The girls basketball team is currently 9-9 which is a drastic turnaround from last season. Prairie finds their strength with senior leaders and underclassmen ready to step up.
When senior guard Lynsey Altenhofen was asked about last season compared to this season, she said, “We’re climbing up the mountain, doing what we do.”
Senior Olivia Usher averaging 13.6 points per game is a major key to success but not the only key to the game. When the Hawks can grab rebounds, play defense, and get timely baskets from anybody on the court they can play and beat any team in the state.
